Careers and Jobs

The job market for program graduates is very strong:

  • Jobs in all MS-ISA technology areas are plentiful - locally, nationally, and internationally
  • MS-ISA skills are in short supply - many organizations can't find qualified applicants
  • Graduates are needed in all economic sectors - for-profit, non-profit, and governmental

Program Requirements

Program requirements are flexible:

  • The program's management core is smaller than a typical MBA core and it can be tailored to individual student background and career objectives
  • Required management and technical courses can be waived based on similar undergraduate courses or related work experience
  • Students can dig deeply into one technology area or combine courses from multiple areas to best match their career objectives
  • Computer science, computer engineering, and other courses offered outside Anderson can be incorporated into the program
  • Many courses can be completed online, though some courses are only taught face-to-face

Christie Gross

Christie Gross, MS ISA 2014

Senior Cyber Assurance Architect

When I looked to apply for graduate school, I searched specifically for programs that not only provided the rigorous technical and administrative courses necessary for specialization in cyber security, but also for a program that combined operational and management-based study. Integration of these skills is pivotal for anyone in the information assurance area, and Anderson not only offered a variety of courses in these areas, but was also a financially sound option. Anderson allowed me to receive a fantastic education at an affordable rate, while staying in my hometown.

The fact that the majority of professors are or have been professionals in their respective fields brought an incredibly thorough and applicable feature to my studies. The extracurricular activities, student groups, and internships provided valuable networking opportunities, as well as experience that contributed greatly to my ability to be selective about my career prospects upon graduation.

The Anderson MS-ISA program was instrumental in preparing me for my current role as a Cyber Assurance Architect.
